Nope SynthiceSheild the sensor your refering to is the cts coolant temp sensor. The sensor for the gauge it self should be in the rear head. Your facing the front if the car look for a single green wire it should be in the corner of the head clostest to the drivers side of the car. It takes a 15mm wrench or socket to get it out.. That its about 20-25 ish for the sensor. The coolant temp sensor is between 20-50 bucks and it takes a 3/4 or a 19mm wrench to remove.. Hope that helps
Negative. Stick to your 3.1.....you've obviously never opened the hood of a 3.8 series 2 before.

Scotty is correct, it's under the thermostat housing on the drivers side of the intake. That is the ONLY temp sensor for the engine. It feeds the PCM, and the PCM is what feeds info to the cluster.
