I filled up my car on Saturday afternoon. I went to work saturday night and ive been off for the past two days. Just on routine trips back and forth my car has went through almost an entire tank of gas since saturday. Can anyone offer any insight as to how or what can be making my fuel burn so quickly.

    Thanks

what mpg's are you getting? How many miles to a tank? How heavy is your right foot? Did you get crappy gas? How old are your plugs and wires? Does your car seem to be running right? DId you let it idle for long periods of times? What year make and model do you have? Any mods done to it? City driving or highway?

When i fill up i usually get around 320 miles to a tank. I drive moderately since im usually on the street. I get Bp gas all the time and i use plus, plugs and wires were done about six months ago. It runs fine and there were no long periods of idling. No mods and mostly city driving. I just filled up again tonight before i got to work and it should last until about this time next week. I'll have to wait a day or so and see how it goes this time.

    what he said ^^

i can go through a tank of gas in like 200 miles if i am constantly in the pedal, but if i drive like a grandma i get closer to 280.

If you are getting 320 miles to a tank, that is actually pretty good for mostly city driving........I can get that on the highway, but not in the city. That should equate to somewhere in the neighborhood of 25MPG........do you consider that bad for mostly city driving?

yeah..........but you need to get that driver delete mod to improve your MPG's.....

Another contributing factor can be your injectors, run a Fuel Injector cleaner, such as Lucas, it'll help not only clean out those dirty injectors, but as well keep them lubricated. Which will help move gas a heck of a lot better through your car.

Just remember dude, at the end of the day, your driving a 3.8L Buick engine, not some 2.2L four cylinder.

I hit around 280-320 depending on street/highway and how hard I drive my car.

are the gas tanks any bigger on the 04 and up's? If not I dont see how you can get thirty something MPG's in the city with a grand prix....How many gallons do you use at a fill up? Even on a stock NA 3800 you should not be getting anywhere near that much even if you drive like my grandma..........especially in the city.
