Seriously, if you want to run low 12's or faster it would be cheaper to get an LS1 car and mod it........

eghh so so you can buy a gtp and mod it for a total of 9k... according to the figures provided.. 3k for a decent 98 or 99 gtp in pretty good shape plus 6k in mods.. compared to nearly 7 or 8k just for the ls1 powered car... plus mods.. but im not too familiar on what mods cost for those cars

Weak...then why buy a GTP in the first place then? Were all here for GP's, not selling them and buying LS1's because they cost too much money. If I were you then I should have sold my car 4 times over then right? And its ok if I run 12's in a GTP...because I can still haul 4 sexy ass bi*ches around WHILE powning your LS1.

Good luck finding a decent LS powered car for 8 or 9 K...unless a high school owned it and cut off the exhaust and 5 grand clutch dropped every stop light. Those things normally run for a NICE one around 13-15K or so. Mods...well, mods ain't cheap either IMO. You get a T/A when your DONE modding a GTP and want to stay in the Pontiac world and are looking for RWD/Manual/V8. I mean, I had to cam my car to keep up with a geared LS1 car with a few bolt-ons...so it isn't too bad.

I have a grand prix too, and not an LS1( I almost bought one in 06....it was a 2002 WS6 M6 with 48k miles on it for $13,000 at that time.) I am all for keeping the grand prix, I just wanted to bring up an option for more power at less money. It is his car and he can do whatever he wants..... I love my gtp but IMO it has its limits as far as HP goes once you want to get to the low twelves or elevens without spending a ton of money. Once you get to that point, again IMO, it would be easier to get in that speed group for less money with an LS1. But if you want to spend the money and you truly love the GP or just want something unique then more power to you. I wasn't trying to be too much of a smart A$$........

Yeah im plannin on buying me a trans am ws6 in a couple months as weekend driver but when somebody sees a trans am they know its a quick car. I want a sleeper thats why i want to beef up the grand prix at least it will still be a fun daily driver car and still be able to smoke a good amount cars out there.

If you want a sleeper then get rid of the LOOK AT ME RIMS AND PAINT JOB.

That's why I just tinted my windows/tails, debadged the car, painted my calipers...and dropped it...thats it. THAT is a sleeper-esque car.

Anybody that knows cars knows that rims and a paint job dont make a fast car. Most people that are speed junkies mainly looks at cars like mine and mainly think sure it looks nice but its probably all stock up under the hood like i spent all my money on the exterior or somethin. Im lookin for a all around car looks good inside and out. For example when i swap out my engine people think ill have the N/A 3.8 up under the hood until they run me and hear that supercharger whine.
