I just did an LIM job and replaced the upper chunk of plastic (upper intake). There don't appear to be any leaks thus far but I am getting a P0171 code and I can't find where an electrical plug goes in back of the engine. The voltage on it is 12 volts with the key in the "run" position. Does any one have or can they take a picture of the back of their engine.

    Thanks for your time.

P0171 is a lean condition code - IIRC. Could definitely be 02 sensor.

If it is a Bank One Lean then that is a vacuum leak...check all of the little "T" fittings around the motor...they tend to rot and crack and cause all sorts of issues.

Thanks guys. I don't think it's the oxygen sensor. That was never unplugged but it is back in that area. It's between the alternator (it's not the bottom plug on that) and the enjectors.

As far as P0171, I'll be checking vacuum lines the next time I see it. It's my son-in-laws car.

I know when I did mine last year there was a connector in that area that is not used on an L36. I would need to see a pic of the area to verify.

Thanks. Since it has 12 Volts I don't think it would be a sensor so I'm leaning towards, it's not being used.

As far as the P0171, thanks for the tips. I believe I found the issue. It's the large tube (vacuum) going into the back of the intake manifold pleum. We got a new one and I forgot to put the O-ring on the connector. Therefore you could actually hear the leak. So I went and got an O-ring that kinda-sort fit. I believe the ones that came with it are probably in a landfill somewhere.

    Thanks for your help.
