or l67 swap i don't know.
Since headers replace the DP (well, most do), and the u-bend is part of the DP, yes.![]()
okay cool the slp's has a dp.thanx .say u know alot about these 3800's how long u been workin with em,u bein a yr older than me and all?
What I know about the 3800 I've learned mostly from the NAIOA (so, about three years). Helping other members work on them is what got me going. I also know how to tear down a Chevy 4.3L Vortec V6 to the block as well as the 5.7L Vortec V8. Some experience with GM's Duramax line, and some experience with the LSx motors.
So, I'm still learning. What I have noticed is that the 3800 is a very unique animal compared to a lot of other engines.
oh okay u talkin bout them truck engines, thats cool .i thought u been doin this all your life as much knowledge u have about these engines. .
300 crank would be difficult like stated above one thing you would need is increase compresion from 9:4:1 to somthing like 10:5:1 that should get ya another 15 to 20 hp.
now you could mill the heads then you would have to run shorter pushrods or zzp now sells 10:1 pistons or get custom pistions in 11:1 but that would be expensive.
yea its a lot of knowledgeable people here.i try to absorb as much as i can.yea chrisb i agree all that stuff is expensive especially when i dont do my own work.so im just gonna be happy with the little mods i got planned in my sig and settle till i can get somethin better in the future .im plannin a similar setup as yours ,how does it feel?
