So, I've finally gotten back on my feet and gotten a good job and am looking to play with my Grand Prix GT a little. I've been surfing around ZZP's site and 3800 performance. A few things caught my eye, but I'm a little confused. I really like the idea of the ZZP PCM 1.0, but I'm having the hard shifting issue with my transmission, would this destroy it further? Which is better a set of headers or the ported manifolds ZZP offers? From what I gathered, the headers cause a loss in low end torque? So aside from those questions, where should I begin modifying my GP GT. Keep in mind I'm a college student and this is my daily. I'm okay with just bolt-ons, headers, downpipes, CAI etc. But where to start?

    Thanks,

    Brammer

dont get a ZZP PCM. they arent that good compared to a few other vendors, but the best PCM is going to be one tuned by someone either on a dyno or sitting in your passenger seat while you drive around.

in all honesty, unless you want to go supercharged or turbo you cant make your car that much faster than it is now without a ton of money. just a heads up.

I would take care of you shifting issues first.

    So I need some advice.

I'm looking into getting started into modding my car.

I'm looking at things like a 180 degree thermostat, colder plugs (is this useful for a N/A car, if so how much colder is good?), a PCM from Intense, Fender Well Intake.

What else should I look into, any other advice?

When getting a Powerlog from ZZP, I've read the front manifold is the restrictive one. Is it worth getting the rear too?

    Thanks,

    Eric B.

If your wanting to get a PCM and not a tune... Overkill... honestly... its pretty awesome... lower rpms when just cruising but when you punch it, wow, it puts you back in your seat a little... makes it a completely different car!! All i have is K&N CAI and a new exhaust... i have more to do but thats what i got!

the thermostat and plugs really arent going to be worth it in your situation.

the PCM and intake will be. the plog is a good investment, so is a 3" downpipe. the rear manifold is fine stock.
