Over the last day or so, I've had the Low Coolant light come on - sometimes for a few minutes then go off (plenty of coolant). Today, the Low Coolant light came on - again for a few minutes, then went off, after a few minutes the ABS light and Lo Trac lights came on. These lights have stayed on.

Plugged the code reader in and no codes are displayed. I thought with a fault indicator like these, at least some codes would display.

right now, I have the battery disconnected - to see if I can clear up the fault, and not sure if this would do anything.

Steering, acceleration, and braking are fine (Have not tried to see if the ABS works or not though)

    Anyone have any ideas/suggestions/solutions?

    Thanks in advance -

    Bill

    you need a abs scanner

98 Buick Regal GS, F body brakes, Caddy STS wheels, tinted tails L36 bottom end, lightly ported heads, 1.95 roller rockers, headers, gen 5 N* 3.0 pulley, FSIC, 42 lb injectors, a BrandonHall rebuilt trans, DHP tuned and AEM water/Meth injection https://goo.gl/gpV5kW

Low coolant light when coolant is full is the coolant level sensor. Located in the right side of the radiator near the top. Easy to change, sensor is about $30 online.

ABS most likely a bad hub bearing, the wheel speed sensors are built into the bearings, so when the sensor goes bad the hub bearing needs to be changed. Could also be a wiring issue, as Scotty says you need a scanner that will pull ABS codes so you can pinpoint the issue. Have your local garage scan it.

So I picked up an ABS code reader. After 3 tries, I got the following numbers: In history: 46-Open dump coil LF, 42-Open dump coil RF, 21-open sensor RF, 32-missing sensor RR, 25-open sensor LF, 15-Buss communication failure, 19/24/29/61- no definition available. Current codes: 41-open iso coil LF, 16-over voltage, 44-shorted dump coil RF.

going to check for shorted/broken wires...or ABS Module failure?

    anyone else encountered this?

I would check the sensors and the wiring before you condemn the module. Easiest way to check is with a multimeter set to measure resistance. Unplug each wheel sensor at its connector and use your meter to measure resistance. The sensor should measure between 850-1150 ohms. No reading means the sensor is bad and the hub unit needs to be replaced.

You can check the wiring the same way by unplugging the electrical connector at the module. Plug all the wheel sensors back in, & then unplug the main plug at the ABS module. Remember each wheel has it's own set of 2 wires that tell the module what's going on. With the pin end of the plug facing you, you want to check the wiring to each wheel. There are VERY small numbers molded into the corners of the plug. Looking at the pin end of the plug the numbers start at 1 in the upper right side ending in 11 upper left side. The last row starts with 20 in the lower right & ends at 30 in the lower left.
    #2 & #3 pins Right rear wheel
    #4 & #5 Right front wheel
    #20 & #21 Left Front wheel
    #22 & #23 Left rear wheel.

Breaks in the front wires along the control arm are common, as are bad connectors. Recommended fix is this replacement harness that you can splice in. Solder and heat shrink all splices for a durable repair.
