Definitely not seeing any oil moving. Am I just destined to tear this apart for the third time?
I know it is. Just really damn annoying.
Lol im getting good at it too
Got it all apart and took the cover plate off the oil pump and as far as I can tell it is perfect maybe minimal wear, how much would it take to cause it to fail?

I replaced the timing chain cover gasket and when I got it all put together I have literally zero oil pressure, I tore it back apart to see if maybe some silicone got somewhere it shouldn't then I put it back together and it's the same thing. It has a 3.8 liter v6 non supercharged engine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have the timing chain cover tore apart for the third time now, I took the oil pump apart and everything looks cherry maybe a little bit of wear but not much. What am I missing here?
I forgot to mention that I can hear the lifters not pumping up so I know its not the pressure sensor.
Did you install the plunger correctly?
Because usually the gear isn't the issue...since it's a mechanically driven pump and everything worked before you yanked it off.
You mean the bypass on the filter?
And I wasn't trying to create a new thread I just wanted to move it to a more appropriate area.
thats making more threads, and its not a better place. no one posts there really.
im with blue. the plunger and spring in wrong will cause no oil pressure, but you said thats in right.
Like the spring first, then the cap...or did he reverse it?
no idea, i asked if he removed it and put it back right, he said he did, i left it at that.
but we all know that can be a no pressure condition when installed wrong.
I know; because I've done it with a brand new gear and gasket.
Cap goes into cover hollow facing out then spring then oil filter converter?
Well I feel like a complete idiot. I didn't have the cap and spring in correct. I didn't see it come out when I first took it apart, and I just assumed it in the other way because the oil filter converter didn't have a place for the cap to sit. Anyway, after tearing it apart 3 times to find out it was just those 4 bolts I could have taken out, I am pissed lol. Anyway, good practice I guess. Thank you very much for your guys' help!
