I'm thinking about installing a block heater as I'm parked outside now. It appears to be a straightforward install other than the freeze plug removal it would look like. I've never messed with freeze plugs and was wondering how difficult it is to remove them as they appear to be a pressure fit.

Also, not sure how hard it is to fit the heater into the block/freeze plug location. I'm not sure about the difficulty level here. I've done a great many things, shocks, brakes, exhaust, LIM, transgo shift kit, so i'm not a newbie to this sort of thing.

Let me know if anyone can chime in on the install. I know the starter has to be removed and of course coolant drained but otherwise are there any other difficult hurdles to get over, thanks.

you basically need to beat on it pry it out.

the easiest place to install it would be the bumper side of the engine. take the starter off and you got a clear shot to a freeze plug.

it would be the fat round circle on the right center of the lower block. the a/c compressor will be blocking the one on the left side.

    Step 1 drain anti freeze.

Step 2 refill with only water

Step 3 wait for the water to freeze

Step 4 Profit. If no profit, go to step 5

    Step 5 Buy new engine.
