Hey guys I was out running sea foam thru my 2000 GP SE 3.1 and it started running rough. I thought maybe it would clear up when the seafoam burned out but it didn't. I thought maybe a plug fouled so I started pulling plug wires one at a time and 3 out of the 6 are throwing spark all over the place from the towers. So I guess a new coilpack is next on my list.

That sounds like its doing its job. Coil packs are supposed to make a charge of electricity that takes the path of least resistance to ground. If the wire is off and it has enough power it will arc thru the open air to the nearest ground.

What do you mean by this? The way I'm reading it, it sounds like you need new plug wires.

I took a plug wire off # 2 and started it up. The spark went down the tower across the base and up tower # 3 like it was cracked . My friend came over and I took the wire off to show him and ...nothing. The tower is dead no spark at all. Hold the plug wire above it and no spark jump to the wire.

swap it around with the the coil next to it. if its still dead it the icm is bad. if it works then the coil is bad.

Figured it out. The vacuum hose running from the brake booster to the block has wire mesh in it and was laying on the coils. I took a plug wire off started it up and the spark went in a straight line to this hose. Got shocked when I tried to move it with my hand. I trimmed it 6" and it is out of the way. So when the coils and igniter get there I"ll swap them out.
