I have put in a larger tb and a custom CAI with a k&n performance filter , and I want to know what would happen if I increased the upper intake plenum to a larger size such as the 3400. It will be bigger, and my thoughts are that it will slightly take away low end torque (not much), but I will see more "boost" so to speak at wot. Is this true??? I feel like bringing in more air in those 3 different sections will be a benefit in all.

even if its the straight stock 3100? that doesnt make sense.. The 3400 has the same set up but just larger parts to it. Thats why i went with the 3400 tb because it gave me a wider port.

the tb are different the 3400 tb is 4m bigger then the 3100 but the manifolds are the same, in 2000 or 2001 cant remember GM changed it and they all got the same intake manifolds

Another question for ya... If I get a 3" downpipe for my 3100, from a 3800, will it fit? on ebay they have small chopped downpipes that end before the cat, so they are relatively cheap. They have the 2 hole "oval" bolt on set up. I dont really see a difference, but maybe you guys can tell me if it would work or what I would have to do to make it work.

i dont think so, you can get a 3100/3400 dp or you can just get headers

What do you think would be the best option? The milzy motorsports website has headers and a downpipe. The downpipe is like 199.99 and the headers I think are 299.99

they dont offer headers for a w-body, an n-body yes. Pacesetter makes a set for the w-body 31/3400 and with headers you get a dp

What is the flange dimensions for the exhaust pipe that attaches to the manifold. I want to get a larger downpipe like a 2.5" but I dont know where to get one that fits. I cant find any info on ones that will fit my car... I really just want the first foot of down pipe that attaches to the manifold and then I can weld and attach whatever piping I need from there.. But getting that 2.5" downpipe is becoming a pain in the a**..
