I thought i had oil leaking from my pan gasket ( turns out it was leaking from the oil press sensor that probally was damaged earlier 25$ autozone) so i pulled the motor out and replaced the upper intake, lower intake gasket, valve cover gaskets, thermo gasket, and oil pan gasket and eventually the sensor. When i started the car it made a loud howl and poped a p0507 ( idle to high). After it idled for a bit the sound went away. IMO it sounded like a dry bearing screech. The car rolled down the road but with a huge power loss, i also noticed very strong vaccum from the pcv tube and and removing the oil cap would almost stall the 3100. Heres were i messed up .... I tightened the LIM center bolts waaaaay to tight and cracked the two center most intake runners.... Also the rubber on the metal felpro gasket was all chewed up. Went to the scrap yard, ported and painted a used one for 20$. I learned from my mistake and invested in a inch pound tourqe wrench! All fixed but some things are diffrent, so here is my question. When i remove the oil cap now the 3100 sfi doesn't even notice ( no change in engine sound/ no stalling ) is that normal for my car? Also my warm idle is around 900, is this normal? No p0507 anymore BTW. Thanks a bunch! And i hope someone will find this helpful.
