Check 60DegreeV6.com - Site News or WOT-Tech: 60V6 Performance they would have more info on that.
pacesetters make a set, you can find them on ebay lots cheaper
there the only ppl that make some for the 3100 in a w-body that i know of
If your turbo'ing guy...you can't use headers...you need a set of manifolds and a turbo crossover.
RESEARCH.
Thank you,and like I said I'll take all the info you guys can give on setups, kits, suppliers.anyone on here done this before.
Why not turbo a better platform ? There's not alot of parts for the 3.1 like there is for the 3800.
i hate to jump on the swap band waggon, but rynoman03 has a point. someone else on another forum just had a lifter pop thru the block. and a co worker had a push rod punch thru his gf's car's block too.
these 3100/3400 engines just arent that strong. my old DOHC is near bullet proof... just the timing belt is its only issues but if regularly changed.... will last forever... (i would do a Tbelt on my and keep it going but not worth it for me when i can do a 3800 swap for less)
get a 98 3800 drop in. engine trany harness and computer and call it a day. with some little bolt ons you can make an NA 3800 that would out perform the 3100. and if you do a topswap on it you will have serious power.
I have a fresh 3100 motorist I'm open to suggestions,if I can find a 3800 for a decent price I'll snatch it up and swap it out but I'll still need info on the turbo end.
if your doing turbo to a 3800 you might want to look into a l26 the newer version of the l36 as it has an aluminum intake manifold. or find a Fbody that has the 3800 as it also has an aluminum intake manifold.
