I have 2002 GP 3.1v6. we bought it earlier this year with 130k, it now has 153K miles. While running it will drip coolant about a drop every 3 seconds. It's dripping off the frame rail on the passenger towards the front of the engine. It's not up near the radiator thou, it's under the engine area. I looked all over the engine and can't really pinpoint a spot where it's coming from. Almost looks like it's dripping off the timing cover. I'm guessing in might intake gasket from what all I've been reading here. Any other thoughts or suggestion on where to look? Thanks in advance

On the dirtyonehundred, if you don't see any obvious leaks at the LIM, then go with the timing cover.

Recently had to replace the one on Dads car with the POS 3 point dumb liter. Firestone told him it was HG's.. lol it wasn't.

If it is the front cover, is the coolant coming from the seal from the water pump housing area to the block ?

I sent the car to my mechanic buddy because I was ready to pour gas on it and light. Sorry I'm not much help on this one. I'd suggest using regular fuel when you decide to torch it though. No need to waste good gas on a 3.1.

I took the alternator and bracket off last night. There's a freeze plug in the head behind that bracket that looks like it's been leaking. I'm going to see if I can't rent a coolant pressure tester from Autozone to pump up the system and see if that is my leak before I tear anything else off.
