Has anyone put an exhaust on their 3.1? I really want to but i have no idea which would sound good. Anyone have one on their 3.1?

    Do it.

Because your 60* sounds better than any 90* 3800 does.

These things with no exhaust sound decent as well.

    Loud, but decent.

    High Flow Converter...Glasspack for a resonator...quiet thrush style muffler...probably a couple hundred bucks in exhaust...sounds way better...gain a few ponies...and a few MPG's to boot.

I have an 01 3.1 GP with the 2.5 inch GMPP exhaust system which is a magnaflow dual system for the 3.8 GP's. I bought a driver's side rear exhaust hanger for the GT/GTP. I also eliminated the u bend right after the converter. The system consists of 2 stainless steel magnaflow mufflers and a stainless magnaflow resonator. After the install, I found the sound a bit too loud for my taste at low RPM's and on the high way so I added another 12 inch resonator right behind the magnaflow resonator and now the sound is perfect. I can't say that the mileage is any better (it was real good before, especially around town) but it definitely has more power. The only problem is/was is that this system is expensive-everything was about $500 but i love the sound now and it looks great with the duals.

I bought mine from Gmpartsdirect.com about 2 years ago and up until very recently it was still available for $450 which was a steal. I just checked for you and GM no longer sells it-bummer! The part number is still listed though.
