I have had a 98 GP with the 3.8, 2004 Impala LS with the 3.8, an 01 buick LeSabre with the 3.8 with a single exhaust, and currently a 01 GP SE with the 3.1 with a GMPP dual 2.5 inch exhuast with a u bend delete and a CAI. The 01 GP SE with the 3.1 is a great car! The 3.8's I have had are not rockets by any means, not a GTP, but pretty decent now for a 3.1 and the mileage around town is much better than the 3.8. A stock or lightly modified 3.8 is NOT a V8 and never will be unless you spend lots of money. The SE has 110,000 miles on it and is all original except as noted in the engine, has the OEM 4T65E tranny which works perfectly and has the OEM LIM gasket with no leaks. Owned since new in 2001. Hope that helps!
