Im wanting to change the plugs and wires on our 98 3.1 se. It has about 124 000km on it. We bought it around 54-55000km ago and I dont know if they have been done previous. I just want to make sure they are good and while Im at it upgrade to the best performance wise. Any recommendations please? I dont know much about the grand prix since I drive and work on the intrepid usually. Thanks in advance
    Nate

I put in the MSD wires in mine and they seem to be good, noticed a little change as soon as I switched them, but then again my old ones were pretty bad.
    GP is gone...

Autolite 606 spark plugs...normally. But for a 3.1 I don't really know what to recommend. I still say AL606's are good plugs. As for wires...if you don't care...get the lifetime replacements from your local autoparts store. If you want performance. Get a downpipe and a cold air...don't waste the money on plug wires that do nothing.

thanks, and in do time. Its my moms car and she finally realized that places screw u over. Never let me touch "her baby" before and this spring im tuning it up as good as i can get it and to my liking and standards, plugs, wires, cold air, new head and tail lights, all bulbs replaced with good stuff, fix exhuast, 1 little rust spot, tint. Just making a nice CLEAN 98 into something that can stand above the stock GP.

^^^^what he said. i don't buy that "performance wires" do anything... in fact i wouldn't even change out your wires unless you truly got something wrong with them. my park ave has 200k Miles on it (or 321868.8 km) with original plug wires. runs great
2003 GTP, pacesetter headers, colder plugs, zzp pcm for now, CAI, 3.5 pulley and 180tstat

again thanks guys. this spring i want to start working on it and get some nice mods on it. Have to fix the intrepid first because my mom wont drive it. Exhaust leak , gas/exhaust fumes apparently in the cabin, and is very obnoxiously loud
