Trade it in for something with aftermarket potential...if not...maybe a custom exhaust system and a cold air intake but that is about all your gonna get out of the 3.1...without a turbo.

You're talking about a car that weighs around 3,400 lbs, and only puts out 140 horses. Short of some forced induction, and a SERIOUS set-up at that, you're not going to be getting much respect from Corollas, let alone the big boys.

Look at it this way. The '89 & '90 McLaren Turbo Grand Prix', which used the same 3.1 that's in your car, cranked out 205 hp, and that was only good for low 15s. That's WAY more power than you'll ever get out of the 3.1 N/A, yet it's still a far cry from something that will mess with the big boys. Difference is, with forced induction, you've got plenty of room to play. If you don't want to go forced induction, you're going to find yourself dumping a ton of money into hard to find performance parts, and netting yourself a whopping 30 or 40 hp more tops. That's hardly going to earn respect.

I don't say this to ridicule. Just laying out the reality of the situation.

CURRENT: '00 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP (ugh...boring regular one)
