Wait a minute...did you buy this pan from me?

It's possible that this was yours at one point, and went through another member before it got to me. Otherwise there's another aluminum zzp trans pan with stripped M14-1.5 oversize threads floating around somewhere. Well, I'm sure there's more than just one with stripped threads...
Edit: Now you pan is internet famous!
Yeah ZZP sent it to me stripped. I put it on and it leaked. Emailed them and they said "Either I pay to return ship it with a 20% restocking fee and then just buy another from them or I could just live with it." That was the option ZZP gave me.
BTW read my above edit.
After got everything cleaned up I did a little measuring. I think I found the problem
Off to the parts store. These looked promising
I feel a lot better about this setup. I went to 50 inch pounds, just so I had a point of reference.
Test #2

now drill the end of the plug for a neo magnet or get a magnet equipped plug.
inspections are quite easy when you can leave the dipstick in, put a shop vac on the case vent, remove the plug and inspect the shavings/accumulation on the magnet and reinstall without loosing a drop of atf.
After sitting all night and most of the day, the plug was still dry. I'm satisfied
Final flat magnet arrangement before the pan goes on
Pan on and torqued. 80 in lbs for the first round. 120 in lbs final.
Time to remove it from the bench. I improvised some support while I un-mount it
A little He-Man action and it's up
This is the first opportunity to make sure the pump shaft spins freely. All good there
Reverse servo is next
Check to make sure the band lug will line up. Looks good
A little lube. Drop the servo in
Pop the cap on. Had to satisfy the perfectionist in my by making sure the text was straight
TCC o-ring next
Install the torque converter seal. Found a good use for the junk 4th clutch hub
All done here
Install the right side output shaft seal
That's it. She's done
Made a quick dust cover
And that's likely where it'll sit till the spring. Just needs a torque converter. I'll grab it locally next time I have a day off.
Want to build mine now lol. I need it bullet proof

How much you have in this all together?

i expected that helicoil to give you a problem with leakage, that will leak overtime as the rubber gasket degrades unfortunately. The only real way to fix that permanently is to use a proper threaded insert, you can pick them up on mcmastercarr. Been down this road before with oil pans.

Thank you! Wait till I do an actual "How to rebuild a 4T65E" write up.
I'd rather not say. I don't want it to get back to my wife. LOL! I think I did pretty well though. The really big ticket items (300m IS and 7/8' sprockets) were bought used in great condition. Everything else was purchased at the best possible price, found after a ton of searching. The only exception being, some of the stuff I got from the transmission shop here in town. For that, I chose to pay a little more, get it right away, and keep some of my dollars local.
I'm curious what people think I spent, or would be willing to spend on a unit just like this one.
Well, I hope the HeliCoil does the trick, but I'm going to keep a close eye on it regardless. I feel pretty good about that Nylon washer. Time will tell.
I think that will be fine.
Idk, never built a trans. Rebuild plus upgrades, maybe 1,200? No maybe 1,500.

I'd guess $1500-$1700. And that's about what I'd pay for a rebuilt upgraded trans
