Looking for a kit for my car. 2002 grand prix gt. 3800. I see several Transgo kits that say they fit my car. Is there a specific kit model number I can use to find the right one?

Also think my Trans is on its last legs. Could this save it or better just to install once I get a rebuild or new one?

First off, moving this thread to the trans section.

Do the shift kit, a pan drop, new gasket/filter, and especially a tune...it'll help it out a lot. Get ahold of Reptile on here for the PCM tune. It'll help keeping it cool too with lower fan turn on points and the like.

Hell even a cheap cooler wouldn't be a bad idea and bypass the radiator. I would add some Lucas StopSlip to it along with Dex3, not the newer, thinner Dex6. For sure would rather spend $200~ on everything vs. $2k on a solid trans.

As for the specific shift kit, this is a complete deal from Dave @ TEP: http://shop.tripleedgeperformance.co...4T65E-SKCK.htm

For the cooler, something like this is more than plenty for your GT. Mount it down in front of the radiator, but behind the lower grille so it gets airflow: http://shop.tripleedgeperformance.co...ooler-1405.htm

Also note with a cooler you'll want to re-check the fluid after a few runs to make sure the fluid is topped off, since it normally adds another 1/2 quart or so to the system, depending on the cooler size.

It may help a little. I installed mine just over 4 years ago and my tranny still feels the same now as it did back then.
