Is there a way to tell if the transmission has Been replaced or rebuilt before? Is there a vin# stamped on the trans somewhere or something?
    Thanks in advance.

only way to tell is if you see the bolts have marks on them from being taken off/on at some point. impact guns usually leave marks on the sides of the bolt heads.

Or it will say GM re-man somewhere on the case if done at a dealership.

The one we pulled from my brother in law's regal had a "GM Parts" sticker on the side cover and stencil painted numbers/letters on the housing:

'02 for the model year, and XAB is the trans code.
