Got my TEP parts today so time to throw them in trans. Any good write ups on installing valve body, 300m, 4th gear clutch, and a 7/8th chain? Trans will be out of car. I have the manual seems straight forward but just wondering any tips or tricks to watch for. First time tearing a Trans open besides putting a tcc solenoid in.

    Thanks!

OOOOOOOOOO Nice! Stage 1 Tep VB? Fvck yeah your going to love that !

I believe some Bonneville thread has the best rebuild thread ive ever seen.

Google 4t65 rebuild and Bonneville im sure it will come up I didn't save the link. Im sure others know what one im talking about around here tho.

Edit what was the rough price for all that? That's basically enough to duplicate the trans in my E85 car.

easily the best part about the car is the transmission! even tho ive grenaded 2 flexplates and admittedly dont drive very nice the trans is great. i did put a new 7/8s chain in but i had no idea how many miles were one the old one so the chain was prevenative maintenance! LOL

I used petroleum jelly to help hold stuff together on assembly, like the check balls and such. You have the transgo shift kit? It'd be a good time to put the 4th gear spring in the channel plate. Keep an eye on the thrust washers too, make sure they're in the right spots and such. Pretty easy stuff with the transmission out.

Yeah read about the jelly. I am putting a transgo shift in and will install the boost valve spring. Although I wonder if it was already upgraded? I will ask Dave.

I'm talking in the channel plate, the kit comes with the a different spring for the 4th accumulator. The channel plate i bought already had it, so when I put my Transgo kit in I used it in the 1-2 accumulator.

Yeah sorry i worded that wrong. I know what your talking about. I'll install the new spring in the plate, while it's all out. I emailed dave, not sure if it matters but one side of the plate has a gouge in it by one of the holes. Looks like the gasket will seal it but just want to make sure.
