I would like to start out by saying thank you to everyone on this forum who contributes and helps others. I bought my first gp gt a couple of months ago and decided to pull the engine with 152k and replace all the gaskets and since I bought it with transmission issues I left a little in the budget to pick up one from Triple Edge performance. my only issue left is now I have everything back together with the engine back in the car and after adding the initial 6 quarts before starting the trans it leaked around the boot where the dip stick goes into the transmission. Well out of 6 quarts it was small puddle about the size of an 8" plate. I started the car and added about 4 more quarts and it leaked again from the rubber boot that the dip stick goes into. Still just a small puddle out of 4 quarts. I checked my old trans to make sure there was not another piece that I needed like an O-ring or something but all it had in it was the rubber boot also that fits into the transmission. I am thinking once the engine heats up and runs for a while this may stop but want to be sure.

My original thread when I first started:

Finished and now the only thing left is to get this small transmission leak resolved.

The dipstick tube has a gasket of sorts at the base where it inserts into the transmission, does it look like it's seated fully? I'd assume that's the boot you're referring to. If it is, then I'd replace the gasket to try to eliminate the leak, it shouldn't leak when filling or otherwise. Mine was leaking a bit a few months back and replacing it solved the issue. It's called a dipstick seal in Rock Auto if you need to purchase one, it was about $3 last time I checked.
For thine is the Cam, The Piston, and The Rod, Forever and ever (or until they break). Amen.
