Got it on the way as I type.
Thanks scotty, hopefully this will shed some light on a dark situation.
its nice to not have to wait in line like the lower class folks at the parts store for a free scan lol that got old fast, so when i found that, i bought it up asap!
Such as I did, definitely gonna be much more of a problem solver when it calls for the use of it....as soon as I get it I'm gonna scan scan scan, and hopefully it will diagnose my trans issue,or atleast put me on the best path.....and still haven't got a chance yet to check the filter or lack thereof due to the shyty snow and cold weather.
It shows pending codes too. so plug it in car running still, its fine and will scan for codes like normal, or clear them while driving down the road. done that a bunch already.
or hit scan after it acts up to see if something is pending. dont turn the car off tho. cause that can clear a pending code, and you'll miss it.
cool i definitely appreciate the assistance, once i scan i will throw the codes if any up for you guys' and for a further diagnoses.
what codes/symptoms should i be lookoing for due to the fact that with max line pressure the car actually engaged in every gear flawlessly?
If you pulled the connector, you only had third.
Another update.......first and foremost, scotty, thanks for the scan gauge listing.....it worked perfectly......second I have 2 codes which I can only pull one because the other reads n/a,the code I am able to pull is p1860.
I was unable to start the car all the way due to a shyty red top,but once I get that warranted I will scan again to see if anything else comes up.
thats a trans code. id clear the codes, then see what comes back, cause you did go and unplug the trans a while back. im sure that set a code.
i used mine on a friends truck and it came up with a evap code and a n/a code. when scanned at the parts store it was a knock sensor code.
The n/a came up a knock sensor,or the original code you pulled?
Yup.....I believe the 1860 was a gear selector code.
he had a p0455 and a n/a code, that n/a code came back to a knock sensor code with another scanner.
Ahh,I see.....well after I get my batt swapped and let the car run for a min I will hook it back up and see what codes if any comes up,hopefully this will help me figure something out with the trans issue cause the only thing I havent done was check to see if there was a filter or not, fluids looked full so who knows.
the scanner can clear the codes.
It did that for me,but when I tried to rescan, the batt took a crap on me...lol.
