Well guys and gals, what am I looking at now? I was experiencing hard shifts and the speedometer dropping and then popping back up while driving. This happened at all speeds. I checked my Aeroforce for the codes and it was showing P0502 and P0503. Those are both related to the VSS. I spent the 20 dollars and replaced that but upon the next drive it threw the P0502 again and is shifting hard and the speedometer is jumping around still.

What is the next thing that needs to be checked? I have some ideas but I came to the experts before I waste my time.

    Thanks in advance.

Info on the car is 2001 GTP 120k

Check the whole wire harness to it.

Well I found the breaks in the wires. They were right up by the PCM? (the one that is in the air box) any ways, I need to know if I can cut out the section of wire that is down to one strand of copper holding it together and put in a butt splice? The wire is for pin 61, and if AutoZone's pin identification is correct, it is the throttle Position Sensor ground.

The picture is kind of blurry but it shows what I am dealing with. There are a couple other wires that have some of the jacket scrapped off of them. I am planning on wrapping each wire individually with electrical tape and calling it a day.

heres a how to i posted some time ago, how to solder.

cut those wires back and re connect them or add new wire if need be. soldering kit will cost you like 15 bucks. use shrink tubes. flux core solder.

Not the best solder job, but it'll do. No more codes and everything is back to normal.
    Thanks, guys!

as long as you used the shrink tubes over it, it should be fine.
