I'm coming up on 3 years (70,000km / 44,000 mi) since installing my shift kit; she still acts and runs the same.
Who knows how long the band-aid will last.

I'd say do it. You don't know how good/bad your PCS is, and it could cause you issues tomorrow. Band-aid it now and you may never have any issues.
