I'm getting ready to change the transmission fluid in my daughters 2008 Grand Prix with 67,000 miles on it. Is the Valvoline Max Life fluid ok to use in my application where it calls for Dexron VI? The reason I ask is because the actual Valvoline Dexron VI fluid is like $7.50 a quart and I can get the Max Life for $16.48 a gallon.

i bought my tranny fluid at tractor supply, it was like $30 for a 2 gallon jug. you need 8 quarts.

walmart fluid is the same as travelers brand what tractor supply sells.

You should use Dexron VI in 2006 + gm cars. I'm sure III will work but in 2006 VI was the fluid that was put in from the factory. It is a better fluid in theory.

I would stick with Dexron VI based on the change interval requirements.

I use Walmart Super Tech Dexron VI in my 01 GP-150,000 miles on the tranny now. My car calls for Dexron III and Dexron VI is backwards compatible. Sure appears to be the case. Tranny is perfect!
