Changed fluid. Old transmission fluid was fine. Replaced with 8 quarts of synthetic. Fluid level is good.

    What do?

    *shudder*

Engine, cradle, and trans dropping is way beyond me. Nor do I have the tools.

There's little for special tools. If you look at my threads, you'll see most of the time I'm using simple things.

    4x4
    Jack
    Common tools

I've read that replacing the part doesn't always fix it so that's why I ask here.

Would a shift kit do anything? Anything I can do with my Torque App?

It's most likely the shift solenoid. It's not too common but not uncommon either. I didn't use a 4x4 in lowering the trans, just 2 jacks with a long 2x4 across both pans. 2x6 will work better. It's not hard, requires pretty average tools. I did it with the tools I had already, with the exception of having to buy a 36 mm socket.

I just dumped a bottle of Lucas Trans Fix in it. I'm sure that will cure everything. Even the body rust.

PS. Damn that stuff is thick!

I believe that's all it does for slipping transmissions. Transmissions slip due to loss of pressure usually, or worn clutches (usually worn that badly because of slipping) So thicker fluid flows slower, increasing pressure.

Trans fluid being too slow would make shift times super long. I'm not sold that's what Lucas does.

From what I gathered, it also softens old seals and helps clean/lubricate valves.

    A $12 shot at a $2,000 problem! =D

A shift solenoid isn't $2000 lol. And I suppose there's other things that go into it like detergents. I didn't mean slow like 80w90, just slower so that it doesn't flow as fast through small openings cracks or worn surfaces. They could have made it the same viscosity as trans fluid with the same detergents if they wanted to.

Cheapest I found on that was Trans +600. And he wouldn't warranty the work.
