Well I'm no expert but....that shouldn't be there
First time dropping the pan on the car?
Likely its a piece off the assembly line for the trans, helps keep somthing from moving or falling out on its way through the build process, alot of vehicles will have a small plastic piece resting in the bottom when the pan comes off as it can't get through the filter.
Cam..are you talking about? I've never found a piece of plastic commonly in the pan on a first drop.
How big is this piece? I've had ever piece and part out of a trans.. that's not looking familiar at all.
The piece is made of plastic and about 1/2" square. this is the first time i have dropped the pan, bought the car used.
Eh, fords are really common with plugs or plastic caps for the fill tubes, prehaps this trans has been serviced before your ownership and was just left in the pan.
Or my other guess of something from the assembly, I mean like how many of these transmission where made..... over one hundred thousand atleast.
I though maybe at cap to a solinoid or something like that. Well atleast i know the pans clean now. Thanks for the replys.
Cam.. you don't mean normal part from assembly, you are talking some er uh.. Mon/Fri thing?
I guess. There's not much plastic normally in there. A few flat bushings, the lube dam or lube slinger whatever the couple of them are called. None seem to resemble that part though.
