I'm sure it's fairly accurate. I agree on the trans cooler, if you see 138 on the freeway, what is the engine temp at that time? 248 is in my opinion, too hot for a trans. It's not going to kill it but it will take some time off it's life.

    Lol ya hwy 138 haha
Normally my temp is between 200-225 but I have seen 248 for five to ten minutes then goes back down to low 200's.

You need a trans cooler asap with those temps I don't even hit 200 in Phoenix which is the 112 degree plus range.

depends on your capability and it isn't about brand name so much as proper sizing and ability to cool. There are plenty of threads on here about it

As was mention earlier, there are lots of different opinions. I am more in Matt's camp. I was told that trans fluid has a detergent in it that deteriorates over time. So just for example lets focus on the torque converter seal. If the fluid has never been changed when the detergent quits working, stuff starts to build up and the seal not conforms to its new surface. Now you put in fresh fluid, the detergent will clear the stuff, but the seal is stretched to the old size and it will leak. This almost always happens, but as mention, some of the stuff may flow and plug small orifices or jam sliding valves. That is why if you keep one changed, you will be ok, and in my opinion better off.

Ok we'll thanks everyone for your help and advice. The flush has been done so hopefully this shop knew what they were doing.
I will have to save up a little for a trans cooler and hopefully I can do that myself. I'm pretty good at working on things but by no means am I a mechanic lol.
Now that there is fresh fluid and hopefully a new filter I will keep an eye on the temp and post back here how it's doing.

    Thanks again

That's what I'm running, it works well. Man $25? Are you sure? Everyone's been paying around $40. Either go with that one or the 404, both are good sizes for these cars.

If you had a GTP of GXP I'd recommend the 404 though.
