Ive had an ebcm issue for a while now. I know its linked to my brake system going bad and whatnot. I starting to think my transmission my be linked to this issue also. My transmission has went out a couple times since ive had this ebcm issue. Any advice? Anything would be helpful. Thanks.

Step one, give us a bit of information. You post doesn't give me anything to comment on beyond..... please give us something.

Transmission went out, What does this mean? You put in two transmissions w/o fixing an EBTM? Not all of us live in the same geographic place, when you say went out..I assume you aced it.

    Vehicle, you drive a ??????

Fill in some blanks..and we'll be happy to help you out.

So I've been paged. I will say there's no connection between the ebcm and trans, so it won't be causing your trans issue. I had a trans issue and ventured down the same path you're aiming at right now and I didn't get anywhere. The ebcm will however affect your magnasteer power assist features.

    Read up on this: http://www.grandprixforums.net/ebcm-...ion-50176.html

Long story short, it's easier just to get the ebcm rebuilt, I tried putting in a used one and ran into problems, as I detail in the thread. ModuleMaster are awesome they fixed me up.
My trans issue is/was it would hesitate on take off. It does it less now that I've gave the tranny much needed maintenance but every now and then it will show its ass. The trans shop I went to said there was an electric communication problem between modules and then they went on to blame it on the pcm not being clamped down and blah blah. Turns out the code was for the ebcm and was unrelated.

So I'd provide more details on what's going on with the trans and see if we can help ya and then also work on gettin the ebcm repaired. Or be a bad ass and just unplug the fuse and never deal with abs again. It's entirely up to you.

Well first off are you sure the ebcm is bad? Most of the time it's a bad wheel hub or wiring problem to the hub. The absolute best thing to do is get it scanned for abs codes.

Second, what brake failures have yielded from your ebcm? That doesn't sound right. Your ebcm just controls the abs system, which the car functions just fine without.

Im sure. I replaced my front hubs. my abs light, traction control light are lit. And the dealership told me this was the issue when I had a diagnostic done recently.

    Your post stresses me out.

I would like to be sitting in front of you so I can ask questions and get answers one after the next. However this is the internet adn hell...you are taking free advice from a blue car unicorn murderer named Brandon. (Proof he murdered them? YOu see any hanging around, there's the proof)

So you have the magical transmission killing GXP. What happened each time to cause the trans to be rebuilt, how was it rebuilt, who rebuilt it, do you trust them, is there a trans cooler?

"First, it would go 20-30 mph and then I would have to step on the gas harder and rev up the rpm's.... eventually it would catch and accelerate normally. A few days later, it seemed like it was getting harder to accelerate and when I stopped at a gas station to get gas, my car wouldn't accelerate or reverse. I turned the car off.... waited a minute... and then was able to accelerate but had the same problem when I stopped at a light a couple minutes later."

That's basically what happened before I had it rebuilt the first time. The shop I took it to rebuilt it and a 100,000 mile warranty.
