Ever since I got the car last year it has had this thing where if I'm on the highway over 80 and slow down to stop, once I start moving again my trans will act as if its having a tough time getting from 1st to 2nd and let you know with a bang, the thing is tho it will only do this once off the highway.. I've tried being heavy on it in the city but it shifts perfect, it's only when I'm coming off the highway at high speed, am I looking at early signs of tranny replacement or something else? Basically I don't wanna go and mod this car if its gonna need a tranny, ill just put my money to a gtp and fix that one up. I hope I explained things clearly, thanks in advance

^ That is a bang from a stop into first, not from 1st to 2nd as far as I know.

Does the trans only shift hard from 1st to 2nd, and never any other gears while it's acting up?

^ I skimmed through it and should have read the details.

Are you throwing any codes? Max Adapt shift can cause this to happen and is a sign of the PCS/EPC/Force Motor failing.

Right now I'd suggest doing Lucas Trans Fix.....If it's a one and done type thing I'd be leaning more towards something sticking in the valve body.....something might be gummed up and may just need a $12 bottle of magic to keep it running right.

Personally, i'd hit the band aid. Transgo shift kit, fresh filter and when refilling substitue one quart of build for lucas.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
