I am in the middle of removing the side cover and seem to not be able to remove a wire harness.

How do you remove this? thank you!

you squeeze the left and right side together, then pull it off.

Yup, what Scotty said. Squeeze it on the sides and it'll slide off. Might take some wiggling

So i removed the oil pan and found some bad signs.

The filter fell down after I changed the oil two weeks ago. I put a new seal and filter in. Heres what it looks like.

    http://

How do I get the filter to sit snug? The zzp did not come with a new seal / grommet.

What is this new stuff stuck to the underside of my pan bad? What is it, looks almost like sap from a tree.

you have to make sure the old seal is out. most of the time your old filter alone pops off, the seal is jammed in the hole. you can just stick the new filter into the old seal jammed in the hole. if you added another seal with out removing the old one, thats your problem. it will keep the filter from being as far up as it should be, and clear the pan.

Yes I removed the old seal before, and installed a new one. Maybe I just need to get the new filter pushed up with alot of force.

Any idea what this residue is in the pan. 2 week ago it was not there. There was also black speck in this area with the fluid.

looks like it could be clutch material, the light looking stuff, the black marks look like the filter was rubbing the pan.

the filter will kinda click when its fully seated, and stay up by its self when seated properly. it does take some firm pressure to pop it back in.

Thank you for the help, I am not that experienced as you can tell. I have read alot about replacing the solenoids on this forum.

I purchased a new filter kit from napa and installed the new seal and the filter went in nice and sturdy. Wonder what was wrong with the other. Installed the ZZP shift kit and everything went back together smoothly.

Now the issue is the drive shaft, I have a slide hammer and it still won't come free after a few hours. Tried everything(rotating, hammer, pry bar, slide hammer), any tips on this? Might just have to replace the solenoids I can get to with it on.

Does the front sub frame mount just unbolts like back?
It has bracket that bends towards the radiator, not sure if this interferes with anything.

push the whole axle in, so its off the clip, then pop it with your side hammer. if its resting on the clip, and you pull on it it wont come out.

i got mine out with a Stanley roofing pry bar, you have a better tool. lol

and yes the front bolts for the sub frame are just like the rears, you'll need to lower the driver side a bit to work on the side cover of the trans.

Tried pushing in then giving it a rip and its a no go. I tried everything angles, wiggle then rip, turning, and straight ripping on it. Wonder if it has to do with the shaft being a reman from NAPA. I know the circlip is on the shaft inside the trans.

Going to move forward with trying to get at the solenoids with the shaft on. Sub frame is lowered and trox bolt are sprayed down with some penetrating oil. Just need to get my T40.

Will I be able to access all solenoids but the manifold pressure switch? Do these switches go bad often?

All in hopes this solves my p1811 code. Thank for the help!

try a pry par, you put it between the trans and axle.

i was able to pry it out with my just my hands, it takes a good quick shot to pop it out.

    Just for an update.

Never got the axel out, had to replace the all the soleniods, but wasn't able to get to the manifold pressure switch.

The only hang up was the clips that hold in the soleniods. Needed some angled needle nose pliers to get them out. With the pan on it made it hard. I actually dropped one pin into the trans but was able to track it down. Whewww.

The car is shifting nice and firm with the shift kit and no more 1 sec shifts long shifts.

The engine code was for the upstream oxygen sensor. Now I have no lights on and a somewhat smooth runing GP.
