why have I always heard people say to avoid synthetics as they often cause transmissions to start slipping? Does this only really apply to a higher mileage trans? Never used synthetic myself for this reason...

Never heard that. My transmission is stock and original in my car. I am using Valvoline Dexron VI fluid in my tranny now and it is full synthetic. Still runs fine.Originally Posted by _nick_
