Need to change the fluid in my 05 with 125K. No issues, fluid has not been changed, color is still good with no off odors. After reading here looks like a pan drop is the safest way to go, along with a filter.
SO which fluid, the universal Dex/Merc (replacement for the old Dex lll) OR the newer Dexron?
    thanks

Some are beginning to argue you can't get Dex III and its all secretly something different.

Might as well step up to a synthetic blend, aka Dex VI.

Dex III is supposed to cling to the differential a little better and provide more protection for it apparently.

    asposed-to.

ive also heard dex 5 is thinner then dex 3. but in a car that calls for dex 5 thats what its supposed to use.

dex 3 is still very available. very.

i would just use what your year car calls for.

its much thinner when cold (good) and slightly thinner when hot (good and bad).

For a daily, dex VI all the way.

i cant help with the install but i can tell you this, you'll love it.

my used trans came with one, and this is the way it should shift.
