If you have a problem with the pcm/gear ratio, though I know you said it was still stock, it will throw a code for incorrect gear ratio and lockup will do a lot of weird stuff! Also if the converter is bad or there is a valve body problem it can cause the trans to lockup as soon as it goes into 2nd and will drive terrible. You need to have the car driven with a scan tool to check for codes and also to view what the pcm is commanding for current gear and tcc operation. Since it is 100% electronically controlled the transmission itself cannot create a shift and the pcm tells it what to do on all accounts..... unless the lockup valve is stuck in the valve body or the TCC solenoid is bad-clogged up from excessive debris in the fluid.
So even if it is making the whining sound it could still be electronic? It is going back to the tranny shop tomorrow where it was built and he is going to look at it and tell me what is going on? Thanks for your help
