I'm having a continuous transmission fluid leak but I can not tell where it's coming from. It starts a couple hours after parking the car after driving for a while. It's not leaking a huge amount of fluid, probably less than 1/8 of a cup overnight. Looking under the car, one drip is coming from the hole in the bottom of the starter, and another drip from the little plastic piece on the underside of the tranny. I know its probably leaking from above and dripping out of those places, but does anyone have an idea as to where it might be originating?
Car is a 99 intrigue gls, 123000 miles on it.
    Thanks for any suggestions!

dripping off the starter is more likely a oil leak, from the front valve cover.

get some card board, lay it under the car over night, the next morning see if its red or black looking fluid. red being trans fluid oil would be black-ish looking.

edit: if the rear is also leaking bad, the oil can and will drip on the tranny, and drip off both sides of the tranny pan.

im sure your engine and tranny are dirty, so i would clean them up with some engine cleaner, after that keep a close eye on the leaks, so you can track them down easier.

car ramps and spraying everything on the under side, then spray the top down, if your all stock, no open cone filter, you can literally hose the whole engine down with no problems. the only thing you dont want to soak down is the alternator.

its hard to tell with out pics, but it could be a pump seal if it leaking under the bell housing where the plastic inspection cover is, the pan gasket, or one of the cooler lines that run to the radiator are common leaks.

[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG] These are pics of the only drip I can see from up top. Located on the drivers side of the engine, a bit below the air filter box.

It could be leaking at the trans line fittings. Where are you located in ohio?
