Hey guys and gals I have a issue that I think I know what it is but I would like as other opinions. To set it up the car started shaking a while back under load. Me being a busy as I kept driving it untill I almost got stranded 200 miles away. But I limped it home and have been trying to figue it out ever since. I recently had a used engine installed and it looked like it was leaking oil. But it was only a couple drip so I didn't look at it. Turns out it was transmission fluid coming from the passenger side CV seal. I jacked the car up and started to see if there was any play in the shaft. Turns out it could move the upper joint about a quarter inch in all directions. So I pulled the shaft out and seal. Replace the shaft for good measure and the seal which didn't look that bad. I took it for a test drive and it ws still shaking. I opened up the hood and have what appears to be tran fluid spray on the alt. And sure enough that seal was leaking. It does not leak when its not driving.
Im thinking its the transaxle bushing because of the slop in the joint between the CV and the Trans. The other side also has some play but not nearly as much. But that sound like a heck of a job. Any thoughts or input would be helpfull. Thanks in advance.
O yea car is 2000 grand prix gtp, 167,000 miles.
