I like to have some extra M6 x 1.00 thread about 80mm long bolts hanging around. If you did..say have 4 of them with the heads cut off it would make this easier because after it's apart, you can use them to hold the gaskets in place and guide the vb/channel plate back onto the properly place. Makes it much easier.

Expect 10 or so quarts. Totally dry our transmission will take 13 quarts. Doing a typical pan drop you'll only lose about 7.5 quarts. If you have it open etc like you will for doing this.. expect 10 quarts.

I'd do a shift kit while in there. It's a nice addition to help a trans live longer.
