depends on your personal mods on what MPH to floor it.
all you should want to know is to not let your car get a nasty downshift.
so...youre going along and you want to pass someone wildly.
    take it out of "D"
put it in 3 (or even 2, depending on how fast your going), and then you can punch it.
as soon as you punch it, you can put that lever back up to "D" and then itll do its autotragic magic.

Theres one thing I'm not following. When you manually downshift to 3, the tranny will still downshift to second or first (based on speed of course) and act like a slushbox that doesn't have OD. (Its not just 3rd gear and thats it right?). Correct?

if youre saying what i think you are saying then yes you are correct.
    example.
if you put it in 2, it would just use first and second gear. put it in 3, itll use first, second and third.

When I say..dont' drive like me. I mean, don't have your transmission out 5 times in one summer. That was only one summer..it was out a few other times in other seasons.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

3.29's...anything under 80mph. Then add on that I did all kinds of stuff to keep weight transfer from happening and was able to slap it down at 45mph and lose speed as the tires baked off.

    Let's say...I was abusive.

Like we've said, from a stop ease into it and put it to the floor at about 15-20, it'll probably chirp alittle bit but nothing to create to much drag.
