Does anyone have experience with there transmission. Seems farely reasonable. I can get a 4t65e-hd with 0-20k miles for about 1k.

Well I was looking at moldy because I first went to tep and I cant find the section where they sell transmissions all I can find is parts and rebuild kits which makes me think maybe they don't make them anymore

Well I went and checked them out 1st and didn't see anywhere on their website actually selling transmission. I know they used to but I can't find it anymore which makes me think maybe they stopped.

Don't use a phone when browsing websites helps.

I hate everything about trying to research stuff on my small phone screen.

Probably nothing, but I wouldn't buy anything transmission related that isn't straight from Triple Edge Performance. You get what you pay for; the best in the business.

Ya that's true even though a new transmission costs more than the car is worth lol

Well or you look at it from this angle.

Save around a grand, and then have to replace it in another year or two since it's a used trans up to 20k~ miles.

    No thanks.

Your transmission is going to fail at 32k miles?

You said you can get a trans from them with 0 to 20k miles.

I'd NEVER in a million years pay anything north of $500 for a used 4T65E...even if it was pulled from a running car.

Either that, or something was worded incorrectly.

No you got it right but it's just a stock tranny if it has 20k on it. It should last a long time it's not like pulling a tranny at a scrap yard and not even knowing the mileage. 20k miles is basically brand new

But still stock. Big difference between a "stock" factory build from Warren in 2000 (or thereabouts) and a standard rebuild from any decent builder in 2016. There have been many upgrades and improvements in the last 16+ years.

Well idk maybe im wrong but my impression was always that a rebuilt was never going to be as reliable as stock. I guess it would depend if you are adding "upgraded" parts and if the people doing the rebuild actually know what they are doing.

    LOL, no.

Hence why everyone here recommended Dave @ TEP.

    We've been there.

    We've done that.

The factory transmissions are rebuilt and replaced commonly because they usually, suck.

So that whole "reliable as stock" thing...gets tossed out the window when you have a bad foundation.
