You mention it does it infrequently in town. Does this mean it'll slip into different gears, or is it just one gear that it seems to slip into?

Well I tried a couple diff downshifts on my way home and it deff seems to be downshifting from OD into 3rd...I will be cruising at 60mph and punch it to get around someone and it takes about 1.5 second to decide which gear to go into and then it slams into gear....I got it to downshift into 2nd and it downshifts completely normal....with the in town driving it will clunk into not sure which gear but I will normal be coasting under 25mph in rush hour traffic and then I give it gas to start moving fast and it will clunk into gear same way it slams into 3rd just not so violently...this is my first automatic car so maybe im just dumb but it seams like it goes into OD real soon
I would like to introduce myself as a Customer Assistance Representative from the GM Social Media group. The GM Social Media team is responsible for scanning over sixty forums, including this one, in order to provide customer service to those who utilize them. While we are not able to provide technical assistance, we are able to help in terms of customer assistance. This would include interacting with the customer in hopes that we can reach some kind of resolution together. We are looking forward to assisting those with concerns on the site. I can understand and appreciate you wanting to ensure that this is a legitimate outreach from GM. We are eager to be joining this online community and hope that we are able to provide some assistance here. Thank you.

lol, by that customer assistance, do you mean "encourage people to go to the dealership for every little hiccup and check engine light."?

Im not sure what "normal" behavior is, only ever driven one GP but when Im gettin on the interstate and Im on the ramp goin about 35, I often like to hammer it and have some fun getting on.
When I do that it takes a second to shift, like it'll be at 1.5k rpm, and watching the tach after I hammer it, I lose power for just a second like it's in neutral, as I see the tach climb up to like 3k and then I feel the power kick in and I take off hard...
No slamming or anything though, it's all pretty smooth.
Except for high throttle applications, all my other shifts are pretty lightning quick and gentle
Yeah if im getting on the freeway it acts fine...all downshifts are normal except when it downshifts from OD into 3rd when I have the hammer down...if I ease into it with downshift into third normal then I toss the hammer down...ill keep everyone posted after the fluid and filter change
