Last pan drop was two years ago when I took ownership at 75 K miles. Presently at 88 K miles. Fluid used both times was Dex VI.

This time around I installed a Transgo shift kit from Dave at TEP.

Great to deal with, fast shipping and so on.

    Heres the pan:

Not bad considering I was expecting clutch everywhere.

When installing shift kit I found the following unusual:

In the bores of the "lid" there are three protrusions, the top edges have all been ground down at roughly a 45* angle.

Also wear at the points where the springs and rods touch the bores.

Other half of bore had a nice mirror finish.

Scotchbrite then cleaned it out and new seals.

Transmission seems to shift as good as it did when Will had high line pressures in the PCM. Lowered it as he felt it was shifting too harsh.

WOT shift took 350 ms, now 250 ms.

All other shifts are 125-225 ms with the odd exception around 500-700 ms.

Far better than 275-500 ms with an exception of 1000-2000 ms.

Thoughts on the wear in the accumulator?

Can you be a little more descriptive of it. the top that you show isn't usually mirror finished because the seals don't ride that side of it. I don't recall ever seeing indents in the actual piece though.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

    Not a problem.

Top was an as-cast finish minus what looks like the springs on top of the pistons spinning and grinding into it as well as the pin that sits through the piston.

The top has three protrusions inwards from the main bore. The end closest to the piston appears to have wear from the piston coming into contact with it.

However the pistons appeared just like the picture Dave has provided in his "shift kit install" under the FAQ section.

By that I mean there is a bevel on the top lip.

NOT MY PICTURE. FROM THIS LINK HERE: http://www.grandprixforums.net/shift_kit.php
