So today i bought a Stage 2 Dynotech Transmission w/ 3.29's from a fellow member. My goal is to hit low 13's if not a 12.99.I cant decide what to go with for a converter.Either a stock reman or a 2500 stall.I just dont want my gas mileage to go down.Any input?I think i am pretty much done modding the motor. What about the CV shafts breaking? They have 148k on them.I will be running Drag radials if not slicks.Should i just keep the current ones or get a low mileage set from morad?

I'm running 3.29s with a 3,000 ATI stall. I haven't noticed any gas mileage difference, the car is more fun to drive IMO. Course it spins tires so easy though and street tires are damn near worthless. The stall doesn't really feel any different than the stocker from what I can tell. Its definatly not loose.

As for axles... i'm still running my 160,000 miles units with no problems. There all original, boots and all. Haven't torn em up yet.

I hope to race my car this fall and i'll most likely be on QTPs. I'm sure i'll have problems with my axles eventully, i've been expecting it for sometime now. Oh well, can't complain...

Usually moderatly modified gtp's stall in the 2900 range. mine does. Go with the stock reman.

Cool i will look into getting a stock reman.I also think i need a new flexplate.I think i can hear noises coming from it.Does anyone know if an l32 flex plate will work on a l67 w/ a stock converter.

Yep go with a stock reman, cheaper and more reliable than most of the aftermarket converters and will already stall close to 3K rpm depending on your mod list. You shouldnt have a problem with axles as long as they are in good shape and the boots arent leaking grease. The flexplate should interchange just fine from an L32 to an L67. I have made a habit to always get new flexplate to crankshaft bolts and put blue loctite on them. The bolts are torque to yield and are very soft and will stretch pretty easy and the last think you want is a bolt backing out!
