We bought my girlfriends 2004 grand prix with 88,000 miles, we test drove it and didn't have a problem. After we bought it, we drove it a few miles down the road and we started having the problem. Its when you come to a stop, then go to take off, its like it doesn't engage for a blip second then engages (so kinda of jerky and doesn't seem good for the trans). So the dealer got the trans fluid and filter changed, but we are still having the same problem. Someone said it could be a solenoid but i wanted to see what you guys suggested.
    Thanks

go to autozone and get it scanned. it prolly doesnt have any lights on on the dash but there still might be a code. does it shift hard through all gears. it very well might be a solenoid problem. get ahold of dave at triple edge perfomance in ft wayne IN

Ok i can do that. Before we changed the trans fluid and filter, it would shift hard after it got warm. after we got it changed it still shifts hard after it warms up, but its not as hard as before. I will have to give him a call.
