I have a 2001 Grand Prix GTP and when im going about 60-70 and lightly hit the gas to gain speed the boost gauge goes from one to two back and fourth making my RPMS jump back and fourth. I think it may be something wrong with the over drive but any ideas?

Might be the TCC solenoid. Try disconnecting both battery cables and touching then together for 30 sec., then leave them off overnight. Then reconnect and take it for a drive and see if the rpm sway is gone.

What does holding the battery cables together do? Just curious... Thanks

It creates a rip in the space/time continum that allows it to revert back to before it had the issue.

What is really does is allows any residual voltage to be drained from the system thus resetting the CPU and all sensors so they will go through the re-learn process once you reconnect and take it for a drive. It will probably run wierd for a few minutes so be gentle on it. No WOT runs.

I was pretty drunk last night and maybe I'm not yet fully here...yet. I'm a bit cornfused.

The boost gauge is going back and forth causing weird crap to happen? Can you explain a little further what the trans is doing and if it feels like it's slipping etc.

A 4th hub shaft going bad usually just keeps the car in third. No rpm oscilation etc. Just 3rd.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

I have heard from the previous owner that he thought it was the overdrive. It happens more going up a hill but when i just need to increase slightly and it the gas the boost will jump pack between 1 and 2 bars. Then car then feels like it jumps back and forth.
