    I have a 97 gtp I think it shifts too smooth!sounds crazy right well from my understanding when a tray shifts firm it's a good one. Or am I just nuts, do these trannys have a bad rep or something? I don't know anything about this car. Van some enlighten me? Thx god bless

    the shift smooth from the factory how they are supposed to. it's a grandma grocery getter.

    however, when you tune it so that it shifts more solid then you start breaking things. there is a middle ground that you need to hit or it'll never be reliable.

    That's how most of them are. Mine was very smooth till I installed a shift kit and had it tuned.
    No More GTP for me.

    Thx for the input, what do u think should be my first 2 mods should be , the reason I ask is because Ian new to the 3800 s/c stuff, and know nothing about it, I do know I have to do certin mods not to set of knock sensors ?
