is it possible to put an l67 tranny in a car with an l36? i have an old tranny lying around that is not being used but i am capable of finding a gt with a blown tranny cheap. i have a DHP tuner to change anything around in the pcm if need be, and if i remember right the axles are different sizes. But the basic question is can a GTP tranny be swapped into a GT and what is necessary to do so. thanks!

its pretty much a direct swap. you have the tuner so youll be able to change the transmission files and run it just fine.

The passenger side axle is different, otherwise it will be a direct swap (assuming they're the same year).

Yes, the gearing will need to be changed in the PCM, but be aware the lower gearing in the unit from the GTP will probably make your car seem sluggish on the low end.

What years are we talking? There are some serious differences between some of them.

That's not too bad, the main difference will be the cooler line fittings. There's a sticky about them if you need that info.
