    i just had my gtp turbo dynoed at zzp it put down 409whp at 18psi or so im getting ready to upgrade my tranny and im thinking of going with daves 7/8 chain just wondering if you gys think that would hold.
    i do run the car at the track as much ass i can 4-5 times a year and i do yous slicks

    I can't believe the stock chains are holding up to 409WHP. Nice!

    Do it right the first time... get the 1" no questions. Many turbo cars similar to yours have busted 7/8" chains in a short amount of time. I wouldn't even consider a 7/8" chain if I were in your shoes.

    yea i know your right i was just trying to cheap out 300 7/8 850 gm 1in
    i talked to dave and he told me that non of his customers have broke his 7/8 chain that he knows of

    You are making enough power to put the 7/8" chain into the questionable area. What gear ratio do you have? That makes a differences as well.... Also what torque converter? How hard is the 1-2 shift?

    2.92 stock gtp converter 1-2 shift is getting soft
    i would like to stay with my 2.92 gears = i cant with the gm 1in
    i have a zzp 3k stall for the new tranny and 4340 input shaft

    With 2.93s you should be ok with the 7/8 chain, and having a looser converter helps as well as it takes shock off of the parts and gives you a little more cushion.
