I just did the same and no one can help me either....mine is doing the same exact thing...I just got mine serviced yesterday and it has 111,398 miles on it. The trans shop said they didnt retrieve any codes....so i'm in the same boat.....the shop I took mine to said they would do a rebuild for 1300.00....

I have the same issue. Started happening the day after the first time I used drag radials at the track. I believe it could be two things. One.. The inner surface of the input clutch piston is worn and when the trans heats up it seals and shifts fine. And two... It could be a gremlin in the valvebody with some wear on one of the valves. Either way you're gonna have to tear into the trans, and if you don't do it yourself, it's gonna be costly.

total opposite with my input piston.... on long trips it would really start acting up bad... around town it was fine. to the OP... have u had it scanned yet?

I did...well the shop hooked it up to a scanner and drove it around for 30 minutes and the tech felt the firm shifts but the reader didn't find any codes....the most puzzling parts is I could go into a store for a few minutes...come out drive and nothing....then make another stop somewhere else and come out and its shifting hard....who knows!!!

see mine shifts fine after something flips the swich i can feel when it starts to work fine it feels like your sliping a clutch and let it slam back at you and bang grabs fine. and it was doing it before the service i thought thats what it was. but the weekend of the 4th i took it on a 800mi round trip and not a single problem. is there a single valve that controls fluid pressure. i will scan it and watch the pressures when i get back to home from work damn out of town jobs. it takes me months to figure and fix things cus im only home 8 days a month.

Sounds a bit like EPC soleniods guys. If the problem is intermittent..that's usually something electrical etc aka EPC.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Is that pricey to replace? I would love to have that done versus the eventual re-build...1300.00 sucks having to shell out!!!

i still have the same problem. it started with the long shiftiing from 3-4 gears, i had two shift soleniods replaced and then the others went out. so i recommend replacing all soleniods at once. the shift solenoids can be bought at autozone for 15 bucks each and the others can be ordered from GM for a total of 40-60 bucks depending on which dealership you go to. u can either do it yourself (which is a royal pain in the ass because its a FWD, but it depends on the model) or go to a hood mechanic and have him put them in. you also need to purchase a new gasket and filter and fluid. in all, it cost me about 350. 100 of it being parts. just shop around, tranny probelms arent all that expensive if you get the parts yourself and shop around for a hood mechanic. peace

If it was scanned and doesn't have a code p1811 it's probably not th epc solenoid.

If it first slips the very first part of the day or after the car has been sitting for a while, it may be even something as simple as the check ball in the transmission line fitting. Some years have them built into the fitting that screws into the case and other years have them internally in the transmission. It basically keeps the fluid from draining when the car is off so that when you first start it, you don't have to wait for it to build pressure back up. When you got it serviced, there could have been debris that got caught there not allowing it to close, or they left it out, hard to tell how exactly they do it.

mine doesnt shift into second gear for the first drive of the day or if the car has been sitting for atleast two or three hours. i have to be going at 15 mph for about 5 min then second gear kicks in. will shift fine after that as long as i dont floor the gas pedal in first gear. it doesnt seem like its getting all of first gear either cause it slips at around 15 to 20 mph. water got into the tranny but i dont know what it would affect. anybody have any clue what it could be?

P1811 means you have a bad epc. If you wanna replace the trans give it to me ;-)
